Turismo Lanzarote is the island's official tourism website and a network of offices spread across the resort towns. Our verdict: very useful for the events calendar, the markets and for asking face to face when you arrive; of little use for deciding which excursion to book, because it neither compares prices nor sells anything.

What Turismo Lanzarote is
turismolanzarote.com is the official tourism brand of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. It is run by SPEL, the Sociedad de Promoción Exterior de Lanzarote (the island's promotion company), which also handles brands for conferences, sport, filming, music festivals, food (Saborea Lanzarote) and superyachts, as well as the SICTED quality badge.
Do not confuse it with the Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo, which run Timanfaya, Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes and sell their tickets. Nor with the Fundación César Manrique, which is private. We explain this in our reviews of the Centros Turísticos and the Fundación César Manrique.
What the official website offers
The website covers what you would expect from a tourist office: what to see by municipality, beaches, promotion of the Centros Turísticos, an events calendar and a blog. The most useful parts for a traveller:
- Events calendar. This is where you will find the Noches de Jameos (every Friday, with dinner and a concert by the lake; Jameos stays open until midnight and you book with the Centros Turísticos) and the "Insólita" experiences. Use it to see what is on; check the price in the official shop when you book, because the calendar may not match it.
- Markets. A page for each market with days and times. It shows which ones are not running at the moment, such as the cruise-day market at the Charco de San Ginés.
- Local tips. For example, it recommends walking along Famara when low tide coincides with sunset, and advises against swimming at La Cantería beach, near Órzola, because of the waves and currents.
A technical detail: many pages, especially the beach ones, show no text if the browser does not run JavaScript. If you see a blank page, turn off your blocker.

Passes and tickets: what you are looking for is not on this website
Many people search for a Lanzarote tourist pass or tickets. Two clear facts:
- There is no combined pass for the Centros Turísticos. None has been sold since the last change in prices. The only combo is Jameos del Agua + Casa de los Volcanes, €22.40. Visiting the five main centres costs €82 per adult.
- There is no Lanzarote tourist card. What does exist are reduced rates for residents of the Canary Islands and of Lanzarote, with a Spanish ID card (DNI) or foreigner's ID number (NIE); they do not apply to visitors.
Tickets are sold at https://ventaonline.cactlanzarote.com/en/tickets-and-vouchers. Timanfaya (Montañas del Fuego) costs €30 per adult and is sold online only, in time slots and with no refunds; the Cueva de los Verdes costs €17 with a set time. You will find all the prices in our César Manrique and Timanfaya guides.

What the official website does not tell you
It is the island's own voice, so it will not tell you what to avoid or which excursion is overpriced. Three examples of what you will find in our guides and not there:
- A full-day tour to Timanfaya, Jameos and Cueva de los Verdes costs €89–99; the three tickets alone, €64. With a car and two people, going independently is cheaper. We compare them in excursions in Lanzarote.
- The website calls La Graciosa's marine reserve "the largest in Europe". That is its own claim: the Spanish ministry gives it about 70,000 hectares, without that comparison. More in the La Graciosa guide.
- The Museo Atlántico has not operated as a museum since June 2020. In January 2024 the Cabildo announced a plan to reopen it, with no date. Dive centres still take divers to see the sculptures; we explain it in Museo Atlántico.
How to use Turismo Lanzarote on your trip
How to make the most of it

- For questions in writing, the email is info@turismolanzarote.com.
If you are getting around by guagua (bus), the bus company's website is https://arrecifebus.com; our Lanzarote without a car guide explains the useful routes.
