If you are looking for TravelON Lanzarote reviews, here is the summary: it is not an excursion company but a website that resells other companies' trips, charges the same as everyone else and refunds you less if you cancel. Doing the excursion through it or through GetYourGuide costs the same; undoing the booking does not.

For

  • The same prices as the operator on most excursions, parks and ferries.
  • An identified company, with its address and phone number published.
  • If the operator cancels, it refunds the full amount, deposit included.

Against

  • Cancelling a paid booking costs €25, even if you give plenty of notice.
  • The deposit is not refunded: it becomes a voucher.
  • Ferries, parks and attractions are never refunded.
  • A company based outside the EU: complaints are slower if something goes wrong.

What TravelON is and who is behind it

TravelON World is the trading name of Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, a company registered in Gibraltar at Portland House, Glacis Road. Its own "about us" page describes it as a booking platform and an agent selling experiences from third-party providers, and the brand is used under licence.

TravelON has no boats, coaches or buggies. Its website says the provider delivers the activity, pick-up included, and that you need to contact the provider directly for that.

The same company is behind LanzaroteON, an information website about the island that sends bookings to excursionslanzarote.com, another brand in the group. Comparing prices across the three makes no sense: it is the same system.

Besides Lanzarote, it sells in Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and destinations in Greece, Cyprus, the Balearic Islands and the Caribbean. Its ambassador, "Mr TravelON", claims more than 400,000 followers: that is marketing, not a mark of quality.

What it offers in Lanzarote

The catalogue covers what is sold at any excursion desk on the island: coach tours (Short South Tour and Grand Tour), catamarans to Papagayo ("I Love Papagayo", Catlanza), the La Graciosa cruise, Lobos, whale watching, Rancho Texas, Aqualava, two- and four-seater buggies, the Puerto Calero submarine and ferries.

None of them is its own product. They are the excursions of the ferry lines and local companies you will also find among Lanzarote's excursion companies and on the big platforms.

TravelON prices versus the operator and other websites

Adult price in euros on each channel:

Excursion TravelON Direct / official GetYourGuide
Timanfaya half day €59 (child €49) Montañas del Fuego entry €30, no transport €59
Ferry to La Graciosa, return €29 (child €16) €29 at the port €29
Submarine (Puerto Calero) €65 (child €42) €65; €61.75 on its website €65
Aqualava €30 (child €20) €30 €30
Rancho Texas €45 (child €30) €45 not sold
Two-seater buggy €150 — €150
Papagayo catamaran with lunch €66 ("I Love Papagayo") €66 (Líneas Romero) €66

TravelON is neither dearer nor cheaper: it resells at list price, like almost every channel. The only saving is on the submarine's own website (€61.75 online).

One detail to watch: the Grand Tour appears at €87 in the listing and at €75 in the basket widget on the same page, and the I Love Papagayo catamaran shows €66 on its own page and €74 in the listing. Before paying, check which price the basket actually charges.

The ferry to La Graciosa costs €29 everywhere. The difference is what happens if you do not go: on TravelON that ticket is non-refundable; on GetYourGuide the same ticket can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before.

How to book and cancel on TravelON

TravelON's terms are stricter than those of the big platforms:

  • Deadline: you can cancel until 14:00 the day before.
  • Fee: on a fully paid booking you get the amount back minus €25. On a €59 Timanfaya half day, that is 42% of the price.
  • Deposits: if you paid only a deposit, it is not refunded in cash; you get a voucher with no expiry date.
  • No refund: theme parks, attractions, ferries and some excursions with limited places.
  • If the operator cancels: full refund, deposit included.
  • Changes due to weather or closures: if the itinerary changes there is no refund, unless you miss a paid entry; in that case you get back what that entry costs the operator.

If you do book here: pay in full rather than a deposit, note down the phone number of the operator, who is the one picking you up, and cancel in writing. Customer service: +44 121 281 6424, 09:00 to 19:00.

What travellers say about TravelON

On Trustpilot, TravelON World has a rating of 2.2 out of 5 from 27 reviews: 63% one star and 22% five stars. It is a small sample, but the themes repeat:

  • It is hard to reach customer service.
  • Pick-ups that do not turn up or turn up in the wrong place.
  • Complaints about the €25 fee and deposits not being returned.
  • Refunds that end in a chargeback claim with the bank.
  • Route changes without notice.

What is praised: the guides and how easy it is to book. That fits what the company is: a local operator runs the excursion; the complaints arise when something has to be changed or refunded.

Alternatives to TravelON

For the same excursions at the same price with better terms:

  • GetYourGuide: free cancellation up to 24 hours before on almost everything, reviews only from customers with a booking and the provider named on every listing. It is our partner and we earn a commission.
  • Civitatis: the Spanish option, with more than 15,000 Lanzarote reviews.
  • Tiqets: for parks. Rancho Texas at €45, cancellable until 23:59 the day before.
  • Direct with the ferry company: Líneas Romero sells its ferries and its "I Love" catamarans on its own website, https://www.lineasromero.com/en/excursions/i-love-papagayo

If you want guides by activity, start with Timanfaya, boat trips, La Graciosa or buggies. And if you are weighing up the local websites, see also Excursions Tickets Direct.

Is TravelON Lanzarote reliable?

It is an identified company (Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, Gibraltar) that resells local excursions at list price. Its weak point is its cancellation terms. On Trustpilot it has 2.2 out of 5 from 27 reviews.

Are TravelON and LanzaroteON the same company?

Yes. Both websites belong to Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, as does excursionslanzarote.com. LanzaroteON provides information and sends bookings to that system.

How much does it cost to cancel an excursion with TravelON?

If the booking is fully paid and you cancel before 14:00 the day before, you get the amount back minus €25. If you paid a deposit, you receive a voucher. Ferries, parks and attractions are non-refundable.

Is it cheaper to book on TravelON than on GetYourGuide?

Not for the products compared. The Timanfaya half day (€59), La Graciosa ferry (€29), submarine (€65), Aqualava (€30) and two-seater buggy (€150) cost the same on both websites.

Is there a TravelON Lanzarote discount code?

Its prices already match list prices on almost everything, so a code changes little. What protects your money most is booking where cancellation is free: on TravelON, cancelling a paid booking costs €25.
