Civitatis Lanzarote is the best option if you want to book with a Spanish company and read what thousands of other travellers, mostly Spanish speakers, thought: prices are the usual ones and its ratings come only from customers who booked. Our verdict: highly recommended for guided tours and free tours, less so for tickets, where other websites have better cancellation terms.

What Civitatis is and who is behind it
Civitatis Tours, S.L. is a Madrid company founded in 2008. It works as an intermediary: it sells the excursion and a local company runs it, whose name is not normally shown on the listing. Its website is in Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese.
In Lanzarote it is clear that its audience is Spanish-speaking: the Spanish version has more than 15,000 reviews, the English one fewer than 200. If you are travelling with people who do not speak Spanish, check the guide's language on each listing.

What travellers say about Civitatis
On Trustpilot, Civitatis averages 4.5 out of 5 from about 195,000 reviews. In Lanzarote, its listings tell you more than that:
- Highest rated: kayaking at Papagayo (9.5), the Teguise free tour (9.3), the buggies (9.3), the La Graciosa ferry (9.2) and the La Graciosa sailing trip (9.1).
- Weakest: dolphin watching (7.1 from 210 reviews), the Fuerteventura excursion (7.2 from 483) and the Jameos and Cueva de los Verdes trip (7.8). Before booking dolphins, read our dolphins guide: no boat lets you swim with them.
- Reviews are verified: only people who booked can leave one.
How to book and cancel on Civitatis
How to book without surprises
- Go to the Lanzarote page and choose the activity.
- Read the cancellation section on the listing: it may be free up to 24 h before, up to 12 h, or non-refundable.
- Check the pick-up point or time and the guide's language; on the Manrique tour, for example, pick-up in Costa Teguise is between 09:00 and 09:20 and the guide speaks English.
- For free tours, book anyway: the place is free, but numbers are limited.
Customer service is by form and email; its terms give no phone number. For Aqualava, buy the same €30 ticket on GetYourGuide or Tiqets, where it can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 h before; on Civitatis it cannot.
Remember that a fixed-date excursion carries no 14-day right of withdrawal: the listing's policy applies. If the company calls off the trip because of the sea, you get your money back; keep the notice in writing.
