If you are looking for GetYourGuide reviews for Lanzarote, the short answer: it is the easiest way to book almost any excursion on the island without overpaying, as long as you check who the operator is and what cancellation policy each activity has.

Transparency note: GetYourGuide is our main partner. If you book through our links we earn a commission and you pay the same. That is why this page also says where it is not worth it.

What GetYourGuide offers in Lanzarote

GetYourGuide organises nothing on the island itself: it is the shop window. The company that takes you to the volcano or onto the boat is a local business, and its name appears on every listing as the activity provider. For example, the best-selling buggy tour is run by H2O Sports Lanzarote, the half-day in Timanfaya by Low Cost Tours Europe, and the La Graciosa cruise with lunch by Líneas Romero.

The island's most-booked activities, by number of reviews:

Activity From Rating (reviews)
Off-road volcano buggy, per two-seater buggy €150 4.6 (5,579)
Timanfaya, Jameos and Cueva de los Verdes, full day €89 4.5 (2,873)
Timanfaya, half day €59 4.4 (2,823)
Dolphin-watching speedboat in Puerto del Carmen €35 3.8 (2,334)
La Graciosa cruise with lunch €66 4.6 (2,110)
Submarine at Puerto Calero €65 4.6 (1,513)

It also sells tickets for Aqualava (€30), Aquapark Costa Teguise (€28) and the Aquarium (€16), the ferry to Fuerteventura from €19.50 and entry to LagOmar for €10, the same as at the museum.

What you will not find: tickets for Rancho Texas (look on Tiqets) or stand-alone tickets to the Cabildo's Centros Turísticos (the island council's attractions). Booking direct works out better for the submarine (€61.75 online on the operator's website) and for resident rates, such as €2 per CACT centre for Lanzarote residents.

The full day deserves its own sum: €89 with coach and guide against €64 for the three tickets on your own. For two or more people with a hire car, going independently is cheaper; for a solo traveller without a car, the tour is simpler. We explain it on Timanfaya; stand-alone tickets are sold in the CACT shop.

What travellers say

The Lanzarote page has more than 76,500 reviews, all from customers who booked. A 4.6 from 2,000 reviews tells you more than a 5.0 from three. On Trustpilot, the platform had 3.9 out of 5 from more than 56,000 reviews.

Watch out for the exceptions. The Puerto del Carmen dolphin speedboat is one of the best sellers and has the lowest rating in the top ten, 3.8 from more than 2,300 reviews. The small catamarans rated 4.7 to 4.9 cost between €75 and €95, such as the catamaran with food and drink to Papagayo (€85, 4.8). Before choosing, read the dolphins guide.

How to book and cancel on GetYourGuide

How to book without surprises

  1. Search for the activity and sort by rating, not by "recommended".
  2. Check the provider on the listing so you know who you are going with.
  3. Make sure it says "Free cancellation" and until when. Not every activity has it.
  4. If you need pick-up, look for "Pickup available" and check your area.
  5. Choose to pay now or "reserve now and pay later"; with the latter your card is charged 72 h before.

On the best-selling products you can cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund, which takes 3 to 5 working days according to GetYourGuide. Support is available by chat, phone and email.

Exceptions: LagOmar entry and some transfer-and-ferry combos (Lobos with mini-submarine, La Graciosa with free time, "Fuerteventura Express") have no free cancellation.

If the operator cancels a boat because of wind, you get your money back. Ask for the cancellation in writing (the operator's email or WhatsApp) before you claim from the platform.

Alternatives to GetYourGuide in Lanzarote

Tiqets is our second partner and is mainly useful for parks: Rancho Texas, Aqualava, Aquapark and the Aquarium. Civitatis has fewer activities (55) but more Spanish-language reviews and two free tours, in Arrecife and Teguise. Viator has a similar catalogue and almost identical prices, apart from the odd more expensive product. Headout has hardly any reviews on the island.

Among the local agencies, Excursions Tickets Direct takes a deposit and the rest on the day of the excursion; at TravelON, from the same company as LanzaroteON, ferries and parks are non-refundable. More in excursion companies and deals.

Is GetYourGuide reliable for booking excursions in Lanzarote?

Yes. It is a German company based in Berlin that resells excursions from local operators at their own price, with reviews only from customers who booked. The excursion is run by the provider shown on each listing.

Is it more expensive to book on GetYourGuide than direct?

Hardly ever. The ferry to La Graciosa (€29), the Timanfaya half day (€59) and Aqualava (€30) cost the same. The clear exception is the submarine: €61.75 when bought online on the operator's website against €65.

Can you cancel for free on GetYourGuide?

On most activities, up to 24 hours before with a full refund. Some do not allow it, such as LagOmar entry or certain transfer-and-ferry combos: check each listing before you pay.

Does GetYourGuide sell tickets for Rancho Texas or Jameos del Agua?

No. Rancho Texas is sold on Tiqets or at the park, and stand-alone tickets to Jameos, Cueva de los Verdes and Timanfaya in the official Centros Turísticos shop.

Do all GetYourGuide excursions include hotel pick-up?

No. Many boats, buggies and ferries have no pick-up. Look for "Pickup available" on the listing and check whether your area is covered.
