A Fuerteventura day trip from Lanzarote is the easiest island-hop in the archipelago: the ferry leaves Playa Blanca port and in half an hour or a little more you are in Corralejo, with its dunes and, just offshore, the islet of Lobos. You can do it independently with a ferry ticket, on a guided tour with hotel pick-up, or by speedboat if what you are after is Lobos and the sea.

Lanzarote to Fuerteventura ferry: operators, times and prices

Playa Blanca and Corralejo are about 7 nautical miles apart, served by three companies. Be wary of the "25 minutes": only Fred. Olsen's Bocayna Express manages it. The others take 30–35 minutes.

Fares and times from the ferry lines' websites, checked on 5 October 2026. They change by season: confirm when you book.

  • Líneas Romero: foot passengers only, 5 sailings each way. From Playa Blanca to Corralejo at 09:30, 11:15, 12:45, 16:30 and 18:30; back at 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 17:30 and 19:30. About 30 minutes. Adult €20.50 single and €39 return; child €11 / €21. Timetable at https://www.lineasromero.com/en/schedules/lanzarote-fuerteventura
  • Fred. Olsen Express: up to 12 sailings a day, 25 minutes on the Bocayna Express (takes cars) and 35 on the Buganvilla Express (passengers only). The non-resident fare only appears in its booking search: https://www.fredolsen.es/en/fast-ferry-fuerteventura-lanzarote-lanzarote-fuerteventura
  • Baleària Canarias (formerly Naviera Armas): about 35 minutes on the Volcán de Tindaya, up to 7 sailings Monday to Friday and 6 at weekends, from €31 for non-residents. Boarding closes 25 minutes before departure.

If you are on foot and coming back the same day, Romero is the cheapest, but its return ticket ties you to its 5 boats: the last one leaves Corralejo at 19:30.

Buying the ferry ticket online

The ferry ticket is also sold on booking platforms such as Tiqets, at the same or a very similar price to the operator's. If you want easy cancellation and everything in the same account as your other excursions, compare here:

Price check The same ticket on each platform
PlatformProductRatingPriceWhere
GetYourGuide Canary Islands: Ferry Ticket Lanzarote/Fuerteventura 4.7 (484) €21 See on GetYourGuide
Tiqets Fuerteventura: Ferry ticket from Lanzarote 4.0 (4) €21 See on Tiqets

Adult price, checked on 5 October 2026. Platforms change prices daily: confirm before you pay.

GetYourGuide also has Romero's ferry with Wi-Fi from €19.50 and the return ticket with a coach from your area from €45, which is the "at your own pace" version of Romero's tour.

Taking a car to Fuerteventura

Only Fred. Olsen and Baleària carry vehicles; Romero does not. On ferry comparison sites a car with one adult shows from about €44. If it is a hire car, ask first: Fred. Olsen wants the registration number before departure and Baleària only takes it on board if the hire company allows it.

Getting to Playa Blanca port without a car

Guaguas (buses) 60 from Arrecife and 161 from the airport and Puerto del Carmen stop at "Muelle de Playa Blanca". The 60 runs 20 times each way and takes about 55 minutes from Arrecife (timetable at https://arrecifebus.com/lineas/60-arrecife-playa-blanca/). For the 09:30 ferry from Puerto del Carmen or Arrecife, set off before 08:30. More routes in the guide to Lanzarote without a car.

The "Encantos de Fuerteventura" guided tour: what's included

The best-selling day trip is run by Líneas Romero and is called "Encantos de Fuerteventura". It is the same tour on Romero's website, on GetYourGuide and on Civitatis, and costs the same on all three: €62 adult, €40 child, €59 senior.

  • Coach pick-up in Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife or Costa Teguise.
  • 09:30 ferry from Playa Blanca.
  • A stop in El Cotillo, a drive through the Corralejo dunes and free time in Corralejo.
  • About 8 hours in total, with a guide in Spanish, English, German or French (each language needs at least 8 people).
  • Lunch is not included, whatever some listings say.

On GetYourGuide it scores 4.2 out of 5 from more than a thousand reviews, and on Civitatis 7.2 out of 10. The recurring themes: punctual coaches and good guides, but little beach time (around an hour) and a shop stop not everyone appreciates. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Lobos Island: permit, boats and times

Lobos is a protected islet off Corralejo, with La Concha beach. To land you need a free authorisation from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura (the island council) at https://lobospass.com/, which you show on arrival.

  • Two slots: 10:00–14:00 and 14:00–18:00, with 200 places each (400 people a day).
  • Maximum 3 places per application.
  • You can apply from 3 days before your visit.
  • If you stay beyond your slot, you can be fined.

Boats from Corralejo to Lobos

Romero has no scheduled service to Lobos: the boats leave Corralejo with two other companies.

  • Naviera Nortour: about 20 minutes. Departures from Corralejo at 10:00, 11:15, 13:00 and 15:30 (plus 12:00 and 16:30 from July to September). Return €17, children aged 4 to 11 €11, under-4s free. They recommend booking 4–5 days ahead. Timetable at https://navieranortour.com/en/ferry-isla-de-lobos/
  • Ferry Isla de Lobos: in winter (September to mid-June) it leaves Corralejo at 09:45, 11:00, 12:30 and 13:30 and returns at 14:00, 16:15 and 17:15; in summer there are 9 sailings. Same price, €17, and you choose your return when you board.

Match the boat to your slot: for the morning one, a boat arriving after 10:00 and a return by 14:00 at the latest; for the afternoon one, a boat that does not arrive before 14:00.

Lobos on a tour from Lanzarote

Romero sells three packages with the Playa Blanca ferry: "Lobos a tu aire" (coach, ferry and boat to Lobos, €59, child €38), "Ferry + catamarán Isla de Lobos y Corralejo" (catamaran to La Concha, guided walk, kayak or paddleboard, €100, child €63) and the "Lobos Minicruise" (ferry and a mini-cruise off La Concha with snorkelling and a slide, €60, child €35).

Do the maths first: on your own you pay €39 for the ferry and €17 for the boat, €56 plus the bus to Playa Blanca. The €59 package with a coach from your hotel comes out practically the same and saves you the logistics.

Speedboats to Lobos and Papagayo

If you are more interested in the sea than in Corralejo, some boats go straight to Lobos without the ferry:

  • Speedboat to Lobos and Papagayo: 3 hours, from €120, rated 5 out of 5, but from only 8 reviews. See the Lobos and Papagayo speedboat.
  • Lobos with dolphin watching (Lanzarote Sea Tours): leaves from Puerto del Carmen, an hour and a half each way, 2.5 hours on Lobos and a picnic; 5.5 hours from €72, 4.2 out of 5 from about 680 reviews. See the dolphin route to Lobos.
  • Private: Lanzalux offers a private speedboat for up to 10 people from Marina Rubicón, from €220 plus €100 fuel to go to Lobos.

A speedboat in a swell moves far more than a big ferry; if you get seasick, the ferry is the better choice. And if you are offered "swimming with dolphins", the only legal version is a swim at a stop, well away from them: approaching closer than 60 metres is banned. We explain it in dolphin watching. A self-guided day in Fuerteventura

A day without a car, with Lobos included, works like this:

Fuerteventura and Lobos in a day, without a tour

  1. Get the Lobos permit at lobospass.com three days ahead, for the 10:00–14:00 slot.
  2. Bus 60 or 161 to "Muelle de Playa Blanca"; buy Romero's return ticket (€39).
  3. 09:30 ferry; you reach Corralejo at around 10:00.
  4. Ferry Isla de Lobos boat at 11:00 (winter timetable, €17 return) and back to Corralejo at 14:00, just as your slot ends.
  5. Lunch and a stroll around Corralejo.
  6. Ferry back at 17:30, or at 19:30 if you want to make the most of the afternoon.

Without Lobos, the day is more relaxed: the 09:30 ferry, Corralejo's beaches and seafront, and back at 17:30. To see the dunes and El Cotillo without a car, the guided tour is more practical.

Day trips to Africa from Lanzarote?

Plenty of people search for it because Lanzarote is about 125 km from the African coast. The short answer: there is no day trip to Morocco from Lanzarote.

  • There is no ferry between Lanzarote and Morocco. None of the island's ferry companies runs that route.
  • There are direct flights, for example Ryanair to Marrakech on some winter dates, but not daily and not timed for a there-and-back day.
  • Morocco is not in the EU: there are passport checks both ways.
  • No ferry company or excursion platform sells that trip from Lanzarote.

If you want Morocco, plan it as a trip of several days with a flight. For a day away on another island, your options are Fuerteventura or La Graciosa, 25 minutes by boat from Órzola.
