LanzaroteON: reviews and who is behind the website

LanzaroteON is an island guide with booking links. It sells nothing on its own domain: bookings go through the TravelON system, run by the same Gibraltar company, under its cancellation terms.

If you are looking for LanzaroteON reviews, the first thing to know is that it is not an independent excursion company: it is the information side of the group that runs TravelON, and when you click "book" you end up on another website from the same group. As a practical guide to the island it may be useful; as a place to book, its terms are those of TravelON.

For

  • An up-to-date island guide, with news, beaches, weather and ferry timetables.
  • Prices match the operators' prices.
  • The privacy policy identifies the company responsible.

Against

  • Does not sell on its own website: sends you to excursionslanzarote.com and affiliate links.
  • Its terms and conditions leave gaps unfilled.
  • Promises savings of "up to 45%" without saying on what price.
  • Bookings subject to TravelON's terms.

What LanzaroteON is and who is behind it

LanzaroteON presents itself with the slogan "Everything Lanzarote In One Place": a website with excursions, restaurants, beaches, the weather, ferry timetables, a map, news and a free discount card.

Its privacy policy names Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, of Portland House, Glacis Road, Gibraltar, phone +44 121 281 6424, as the responsible company. It is the same company that operates TravelON World. The footer links to TravelON and the social media accounts are TravelON's.

The terms and conditions page, on the other hand, is an incomplete template. Where the registered office should be, it literally says "Our company registration number", and no company number, tax ID or address appears. For an information website that matters little; for a website that directs payments, it matters more.

What it offers and how booking works

LanzaroteON promotes the island's usual catalogue: the Short South Tour and Grand Tour, Rancho Texas, the César Manrique tour, karting, the submarine, the Catlanza and I Love Papagayo catamarans, the La Graciosa catamaran, a dinner show, buggies, quads, Aquapark, Aqualava, ferries and jet skis.

But it does not sell them on lanzaroteon.com. The "Book Excursions" section links to excursionslanzarote.com, which describes itself as a TravelON brand operated by Markit Tech Ventures, and to an affiliate system. It also links to excursionsfuerte.com for Fuerteventura.

In practice, LanzaroteON, TravelON and excursionslanzarote.com are a single booking system. Comparing prices between them makes no sense.

LanzaroteON prices versus other websites

Prices come from TravelON's booking engine and match the list price:

Excursion LanzaroteON / TravelON Direct / official GetYourGuide
Timanfaya half day €59 Montañas del Fuego entry €30, no transport €59
Ferry to La Graciosa, return €29 €29 at the port €29
Submarine €65 €61.75 on its website €65
Rancho Texas €45 €45 not sold
Aqualava €30 €30 €30

The website says you can "save up to 45%" by buying excursions online, but does not explain compared with what. At these prices there is no saving against the operator or against other platforms. There is no mark-up either: the difference lies in cancellation.

Another claim to treat with caution: it describes Aquapark Costa Teguise as the biggest water park in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands, without a source. What can be said is that it is bigger than Aqualava and opens only in season; we explain it in Aquapark Costa Teguise.

What travellers say

LanzaroteON has no known review profile of its own, on Trustpilot or on other review websites. As bookings end up with TravelON, what matters are that brand's reviews: on Trustpilot, TravelON World has 2.2 out of 5 from 27 reviews. Recurring complaints concern difficulty making contact, missed pick-ups, the €25 fee and deposits not being returned; the guides and the ease of booking are praised. We go into detail in our TravelON review.

How to book and cancel

If you book through LanzaroteON, TravelON's terms apply:

  • Cancellation until 14:00 the day before.
  • On fully paid bookings, a refund minus a €25 fee.
  • Deposits are not refunded in cash: they are converted into a voucher.
  • Parks, attractions and ferries are non-refundable.
  • If the operator cancels, a full refund.

The company is registered in Gibraltar, outside the European Union. If a problem arises, making a claim is more complicated than with a European platform.

Is LanzaroteON reliable?

It is an information website owned by Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, the Gibraltar company that operates TravelON. It does not sell on its own domain: bookings pass to excursionslanzarote.com under TravelON's terms, which charge €25 to cancel and do not refund ferries or parks.

Are LanzaroteON and TravelON the same company?

Yes. Its privacy policy names Markit Tech Ventures Ltd, the same company that operates TravelON World and excursionslanzarote.com.

Is it cheaper to book excursions on LanzaroteON?

No. The Timanfaya half day (€59), the La Graciosa ferry (€29) and Aqualava (€30) cost the same as at the port, the park or on GetYourGuide.

Can I cancel an excursion booked through LanzaroteON?

Yes, until 14:00 the day before, with a €25 fee if you paid in full. Deposits are returned as a voucher, and ferries and parks are non-refundable.

Does the LanzaroteON Discount Card work?

The website offers it for free but does not publish which businesses accept it. Ask before you pay.
