Aquapark Costa Teguise reviews: the big park, warts and all

Aquapark Costa Teguise is the water park with the most slides in Lanzarote: 25, plus 11 pools, for €28. In return, the water is not heated, it opens only from late March to early November, and many visitors find it rather worn.

Our view of Aquapark Costa Teguise in one sentence: if your children are older and want slides, it is the option with the most slides in Lanzarote during the season, but go knowing the water is cold on cool days and maintenance is not its strong point. Here we review the business (prices, rules, service, cancellation); opening hours, slides and getting there are in the Aquapark Costa Teguise guide.

Who runs Aquapark Costa Teguise

The park is operated by Aquapark Costa Teguise SL, based on the Avenida del Golf in Costa Teguise (Teguise). It has no connection with Aqualava (owned by Relaxia) or Rancho Texas. It sometimes appears as "Aquapark Lanzarote", but it is the same park.

Watch out with the website: the official one is https://aquaparklanzarote.es. The old .com domain is for sale and does not lead to the park, so do not buy from old links. Contact: +34 928 59 21 28 and info@aquaparklanzarote.es.

What the Aquapark offers

The park says it has 25 slides and 11 pools, a children's lagoon with small slides and three restaurant and fast-food areas; it bills itself as the largest water park in Lanzarote. Most rides require a height of 100 cm and some 120 or 140 cm. It also sells virtual reality (Cyberduck VR), paintball (price on request), summer camps and birthday parties.

The rules are strict and worth reading beforehand: no food, drink, cans or glass; under-12s always with an adult; adults and children do not go down the slides together; pregnant women cannot use them; no cameras or GoPros on the slides; and to pay by card you will be asked for ID.

The base price is €28 everywhere: official website, GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Civitatis. The only way to pay less is to buy on the park's website, which applies an 8% online discount. Tiqets, for its part, offers free cancellation until 23:59 the day before and sells a combined ticket with the Aquarium Lanzarote, also in Costa Teguise, at 10% off (€39.60 instead of €44): the only real discount on two parks on any platform.

What travellers say about the Aquapark

On Tripadvisor the praise centres on the number of slides, the fact that it fills a whole family day and the plentiful sunbeds. On the platforms it scores 4.2 out of 5 on GetYourGuide from 581 reviews, and 4.0 on Tiqets.

The most repeated criticisms:

  • Wear. Several visitors describe it as a bit tired, with worn slides and missing tiles.
  • Cold water. The park confirms the pools are not heated; on cool or windy days you feel it.
  • Price. Some feel it is not cheap given the state of the facilities.
  • Space bowl. Some reviews warn about this slide; if your children are young, ask the lifeguard before going up.

Booking and cancellation

How to book the Aquapark

  1. Check the park is open that day: season from late March to 8 November; from 6 April to 31 May it is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  2. Check the forecast: with unheated water, a cloudy, windy day drags.
  3. If your date is fixed, buy at https://aquaparklanzarote.es/en/entry-tickets/ to get the 8% discount. If you want to be able to cancel, buy on Tiqets or add the paid cancellation insurance on the official website.
  4. Without a car, take guagua (bus) 03 from Puerto del Carmen or 01 from Arrecife; the park's own bus costs €5–7 return per person depending on the page (confirm when booking) from Puerto del Carmen, Puerto Calero and Playa Blanca.

Tickets are personal and non-transferable. With the optional insurance ("Trip Protection") you get a refund up to one hour before opening, at 10:00; without it, the website makes no provision for refunds, and there are none if the park closes early because of the weather or a technical problem. If you have a problem at the park, complain at the ticket office first and ask for written proof: in the Canary Islands that is the step before filing an official complaint form (hoja de reclamaciones).
